Re-cap

A lot has happened since last post but I want to do A little re-cap on life before Maine and about us (David and Melissa) and our fun dating.

We met some time in February 2011 at UVU in the hall in the LA building. I ( David ) remember noticing Melissa sitting close to my best friend Cam and his mission friends. Although she doesn't remember me from our first encounter, I set one seat away from her and joined into my friends conversation about girls. We discussed how and why girls act the way they do. I admit that I wanted to talk to Melissa and hoped she would jump into the conversation.

Sure enough she did and we had her defend her gender and tell us the facts. Luckily for us Melissa and I had breaks between our classes at the same time of the day, so we hung out with our friends (Cole, Cam, Heather and Katie) every Tuesday and Thursday.

On April 6th 2011 Melissa helped serve the men at the men's appreciation luncheon for Institute. Of course me being a man who loves a free meal; I went to the luncheon with my conrad Cam. There Melissa served us and I insisted that she eat with us too. As we all ate we discussed the most recent General Conference and how there was such a focus on getting married. So me being the keen genius I am, I came up with the idea that Melissa and I should tell our group of friends that we're engaged and Cam would be our witness that it's true. So we devised a plan of how to tell the group and make them believe it.

At the end of the luncheon I was going to get a ride home from Cam (who lived with me) but he had to go do something first so he suggested that maybe Melissa could. She said she would and that's how we started hanging out outside of school. We realized that if we were going to make this prank work we would have to be more involved with each others lives. So when Melissa stopped at my house to drop me off we stayed in the car and talked for a while. I asked her if she liked photography because my mom is a photographer and I could show her some pictures.

She fell for it and came inside where we continued to flirt. After a while she had to go but asked if I wanted to go to her friends birthday party that night. After finding out her friend was 27 and me being scared of commitment I said no but we could do something after. So instead of going to the birthday party Melissa came over and the flirting commenced once again.

We shot the basketball in my back yard and talked. I found out that her degree was in Behavioral Science so we decided to try to analyze each other. I'm pretty sure it was in that hour that I won her heart; because not only did I listen but I could accurately depict her likes and dislikes with the few details she had told me over the short time we knew each other. Durning this we played a game of horse and prior to the game I was making almost every shot. But when we played horse I couldn't make anything and I got owned by Melissa. After basketball we went inside and watched TMNT and that's how we spent our night. After that we were together every day but i'll get to that a little later.

New York/New Jersey

Well, My sister Jennie and I came to New York& New Jersey for the week. We flew in on Wed evening and got a ride to our hotel. We got dinner and watched a movie the day we got here. Then on Thursday we got a ride from our hotel in Jersey to New York City. We got dropped off by Central Park and walked around there, went by the Zoo. When we got to the Zoo and were walking around it started to pour, luckily there was a man selling umbrellas on the corner, so we bought one. Then walked to Manhatten Temple/ Church building. It was really cool. It really does just blend in with the tall buildings. Then we walked to time square and went to the Disney store and to Toys R' Us. The toys r us is HUGE!! It has a Ferris wheel in it.. Jennie and I rode on the Mr. Potato Head car. It was a lot of fun.
After, we rode that and walked around the store the rain had stopped. We then met up with James Pierce, Davids brother and got some famous New york cupcake and went to the Natural History Musuem. It was pretty fun. After that we went to dinner with James and his girlfriend Elise at the Famous Shake Shack. I haven't had that great of a burger in a long time. The last activity of the night was Shakespeare in the Park. Elise won us tickets. It kind of reminded me of the Tuachann in St. George.It was a fun filled day and we were both very tired.

Decisions, Decisions.......

Well, it has been a few days.. OK almost a week since I last blogged. Camp has been fun and I've met a lot of wonderful amazing people but, I have decided to come home early. I know many of you question why. I just feel it is the best thing for me to come home. I have enjoyed my time here and have learned many things. Over the last week i have learned how to use excel, merge documents from word to excel, drive a golf cart, and train new people in the office. It has been great! I'm very excited to come home and be with my family and do things there as well. I will take some other pics and post them later but for now I'm off. Just thought I would post a quick update. ciao!!
